In 2003, "Big Papi" David Ortiz signed a free agent contract with the Boston Red Sox. In 2004, the Red Sox are well known for their unbelieveable comeback against the Yankees in the ALCS. David Ortiz played a big role in this, hitting a walk-off homerun in game 4. Because of this he became the post season MVP. His career batting average is .281, and has 351 homeruns. He has been involved in 6 different allstar games. He also won the 2010 State Farm Home Run Derby.
