Jim Rice was a red sox player from 1974 to 1989. He was elected to the All Star Game 8 different times. In 2009, he was voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. He finished his career with a .298 batting average, 382 home runs, 2,452 hits, and 1,451 RBI's. He played second base. In 1978 he was voted American League Most Valuable Player. Because of that year, he remains the only player ever to lead the major leagues in triples, home runs and RBIs in the same season. Throughout his tenure in Boston, the Red Sox made it to the playoffs twice.
