Carl Yastrzemski

 

Carl Yastrzemski was a red sox player from 1961 to 1983. He was elected to the All Star Game 18 different times. In 1989, he was voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. He finished his career with a .285 batting average, 452 home runs, 3,419 hits and 1,844 RBI's. He played left field and first base. In 1967 he was voted American League Most Valuable Player. He is also a 7 time gold glove award winner and won the 1967 Hutch Award. The Hutch Award is given annually to an active Major League Baseball player who best exemplifies the fighting spirit and competitive desire of Fred Hutchinson.
